- You. Right now, I am not sure of what my talents are. Maybe as I continued with my idea I will start to see my strengths and weaknesses that could affect the project. If I were to start this business, I feel that it will be a big influence on how I will pursue my future endeavors.
- What are you offering to customers? What I am offering to the customers is the experience and an area in which they allow their pets to have fun. This pet park will be different from the others because it will have more than a regular dog park. This pet park will have big events like local dog shows and pet training classes. It’ll also include small perks like having coin machines for dog treats or a dog toy rental.
- Who are you offering it to? I am hoping to offer it to all pet owners. However, I still have to find a way to expand it to the smaller pets like cats, gerbils, and bunnies.
- Why do they care? Many pet owners care about their pet and want to have an open space to play with them. Once they are able to experience the difference that Pup’s Park provides they will continue coming back.
- What are your core competencies? The core competencies of Pup’s Park are the many opportunities and activities listed above and a potential pet sitting service.
These elements are all beneficial to the concept, however I’ll try not to go overboard on the activities. Eventually I’ll limit the activities that Pup’s Park will offer, because I don’t want the core concept to be spread thin. I’ll continue to research how I will be able to fund this project because that may be a big thing to consider especially with the types of services Pup’s Park wants to offer.
Toni,
ReplyDeleteI like your idea! My family owns a golden retriever and we are constantly looking for somewhere to take him to play with our dogs! I like that your idea is broad, however, I would do a little bit more introspection because I bet you personally have some great character traits that could really bring this idea to life! Don't sell yourself short, I know its hard to brag about yourself, but I think if you are confident you can make this happen. I am excited to see where your venture takes you. Good luck!
Hi Toni,
ReplyDeleteDogs need a place to run around and other types of animals may need a place to stay while you’re out. I think a dog park with additional services would be great for the right communities. Your idea for a pet sitting service would be a good addition. I imagine a dog park with a facility on the grounds for pet sitting and maybe a small store inside so owners can pick up food, toys, and other accessories in one trip. You mention your idea is still developing, and I tried to give you a few ideas. The idea sounds great thus far. Good luck with your concept development in the coming week or two.

Toni,
ReplyDeleteAs a pet owner/lover, your idea rocks - my wife and I are always looking for a place to take our dogs. As you hinted at, a community atmosphere would be a good thing to aim for - inclusion of all the pets and bringing the pet owners together through events/training/shows/etc. will create a community where people bond and keep coming back. Pet pick-up/drop-off may be something to consider as well because it will take a little more off of the pet-owners shoulders as they prepare to leave town (if they are boarding their pet with you). Our ideas are similar in the aspect of giving free-time back to our customers. Check mine out at http://ufentclassblog.blogspot.com/2016/02/idea-napkin-no-1.html
I very much like your idea of building a dog park that has all of those extra perks. As a dog owner I find myself always looking for a new place to take my dog to get some exercise and have fun. Your idea of offering training would be extremely helpful for our animals to learn the basics. This is also a way to bring together the community where as with the animals comes the owners and this allows owners to meet new citizens in the park. If you found a way to add a kennel you could streamline some money through boarding and maybe add a grooming area.https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1155716003720301381#editor/target=post;postID=3713169776976984212;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=3;src=postname
ReplyDeleteHi Toni,
ReplyDeleteNice idea you got here! I also really enjoyed reading about yourself. I can see that you really enjoy animals. Pet shows are definitely fun but it can also have a lot of risks. Overall, I enjoyed reading your idea napkin! I would have liked you to be a little bit more descriptive. But other than that, great job!
